Add a car

A car is an individual physical vehicle — an asset — that belongs to an asset group. Customers book the group; you assign a specific car when the rental starts.

Note

If the asset group you need does not exist yet (for example “Economy”), create it first from Fleet → Asset groups, then return here.

Steps

1. Open Fleet → Cars from the left sidebar.

2. Click Add car in the top-right corner.

3. Fill in the vehicle details:

   • Asset group — the class this car belongs to (for example “Economy”).
   • Name / label — a human-friendly identifier shown in the fleet chart.
   • License plate — the unique plate number (for example SU-123-AB).
   • Attributes (optional) — category-specific fields such as transmission, fuel type, or seats.

4. Click Save. The car appears immediately as a new row in the fleet chart, grouped under its asset group.

What happens next

Once a car exists and its group has an active rate, it becomes bookable. When you create a booking for its group, you can assign this specific car at rental start.

Tip

A car can be temporarily removed from availability without deleting it — useful for maintenance. Set its status to Out of service from the car’s detail page.
